Blood donation is something we periodically organize at AKL, especially knowing how important blood availability is in Greece - and how challenging the summer months can be.
This time, we wanted to go one step further. Through AgKaLia, our network of volunteers, we reached out to the other three companies in our building: SALFO & ASSOCIATES SA., Endeavor and Kerameus & Partners Law Firm and invited them to join forces for a shared blood drive, carefully planned and organized by Bloode.
The result? 24 units of blood collected - and 6 more people who showed up willing to donate but finally couldn’t for medical reasons. To us, that’s not a loss: 30 people in total came forward wanting to help, wanting to offer.
More importantly: the companies’ contributions to the initiative will support Bloode in organizing soon another blood drive at the Municipal Market of Kypseli.
A day full of positive energy, new connections and a shared purpose - funnily enough, in a building that was once home to Kyanous Stavros (Blue Cross) Hospital.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Alexandra General Hospital for their invaluable contribution to making the blood drive possible. We’re looking forward to doing more together.
