In light of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17th, the AKL volunteers joined hands with Genesis Hellas to prepare food and sweets for homeless people and families in need within the Municipality of Athens.
Genesis Hellas, founded in 2018, is an organization that cooks homemade meals using high-quality ingredients, carefully packages them, and distributes them to those in need of care and support in the heart of Athens. Until today, the organization has prepared over 60,000 meals!
Our team worked together to cook a warm barley risotto, after first cleaning and slicing vegetables for the salad. And because no meal is complete without dessert, we wrapped up by preparing cookies with chocolate spread.
With Christmas just around the corner don’t forget: You can become a volunteer here: https://genesishellas.com/become-a-volunteer/ by donating specific food items requested by the organization, contributing even 1 euro, or offering your gently used clothes, which are also in great demand.
