Our energy practice builds on experience gained in several regulated network industries and can advise on all energy related issues, both upstream and downstream. We have a deep understanding of the sector, policy and political issues, the particularities and requirements of cost-intensive infrastructure and the environmental ramifications of investments and business in energy and natural resources. Our practice serves the needs of clients active at any level of the supply chain, including undertakings involved in the production, transmission and supply of electricity and gas. We advise on licensing, permits and concessions, generation licensing, acquisition of mining rights, greenfield development, environmental assessment, regulation, connection to the electricity or gas grid and project financing of wind, solar, combined/cogeneration, bio-mass, geothermal facilities and infrastructure. We keep abreast of developments in the energy market both in Greece and at EU, including emission trading systems, structural unbundling/adjustment, CCS. The team handles energy litigation and has acted for several clients, including the Hellenic Transmission System Operator.
